Applications and selection notes
Forged steel fittings are the answer for lines of 2" and below: drains, vents, instrument and utility connections. The socket weld type requires welding and allows higher pressure, while the threaded type is used where welding is impossible or hot work is not permitted. Classes are given as 3000#, 6000# and 9000#.
Threading consumes part of the wall, so SCH 80 pipe is normally required. State material grade (A105, A182 F304L/F316L, F11, F22) and standard (ASME B16.11) on the enquiry.
