A blind flange is a solid flange with no bore that closes the line completely. It is used for line termination, maintenance isolation, pressure testing and capping spare outlets.
Because pressure acts on the whole face it is thicker than other types of the same size and class, so stud length is calculated differently. Class 300 means a thicker body and a larger bolt circle than 150# at the same size; it is the standard class for medium pressure process lines. See what is a blind flange for the details.
