Applications and selection notes
A double block and bleed plug valve provides two sealing surfaces and a bleed point in one body. Both seats close, the cavity between them is drained, and true isolation can be verified. It is used at metering stations, pig launchers and receivers and product changeover lines.
The conventional arrangement needs two valves plus a bleed valve; a DBB valve combines them in one item, saving space and weight. State size, pressure class, sealing and fire safe requirements.
