Applications and selection notes
A plug valve works with a quarter turn of its tapered or cylindrical plug and gives full bore flow. Lubricated types are used on high pressure hydrocarbon lines, non lubricated (sleeved) types where cleanliness matters. They handle fluids with solids better than ball valves.
Multi port versions change flow direction within one body. State the number of ports, bore type, body material, lubrication system and actuation when ordering.
