Applications and selection notes
A safety or pressure relief valve is the last protection against exceeding the design pressure. Gas and steam service uses a pop action safety valve, liquid service a modulating relief valve. The selection is not complete without set pressure, back pressure and capacity calculation together.
For a quotation we need fluid type, flow rate, set pressure, operating and back pressure values and inlet and outlet sizes. Test and setting certificates, and API 526/527 compliance where required, should be requested.
